Review: “Quilt or Innocence” by Elizabeth Craig

quilt-or-innocence-coverQuilt or Innocence ( 1st in the “Southern Quilting” mystery series )

June 2012

As the newest member of the Village Quilters Guild, Beatrice has a lot of gossip to catch up on—especially with the Patchwork Cottage quilt shop about to close. It seems that Judith, the landlord everyone loves to hate, wants to raise the rent, despite being a quilter herself…

But when Judith is found dead, the harmless gossip becomes an intricate patchwork of mischievous motives. And it’s up to Beatrice’s expert eye to decipher the pattern and catch the killer, before her life gets sewn up for good.

My thoughts…

As Beatrice gets settled into the Community that she recently moved to…one of her neighbors ( Meadow ) comes over to take her to the local Quilters meeting.  As Beatrice gets to know everyone,..she realizes that some of the members of the Quilters group do not like Judith, ( and there are different reasons why they dont like her )… this leads to many “suspects” when Judith is found dead in the park after the Meeting.  I enjoyed the fast pace of this mystery, and I thought the Author did a good job in hiding the killer within the outcome of the story.  With the engaging characters and the fast moving dialogue,..this book was a real page turner for me.  Also included:  Some Quilting tips and Recipes at the end of the book.
